The VFD17AME43AFSAA variable frequency drive from the ME300 series is designed to control three-phase motors in industrial applications. The ME300 series combines a compact design with vector control, integrated safety and communication functions, and support for both induction motors and permanent magnet motors.
The VFD17AME43AFSAA model is designed for a 380–480 V AC three-phase power supply and motors up to 7.5 kW / 10 HP. The rated output current in Heavy Duty mode is 17 A. This variant includes an integrated EMC filter and the STO (Safe Torque Off) function.

The ME300 supports asynchronous (IM) motors as well as synchronous permanent magnet motors (IPM and SPM), allowing a single drive type to be used across various drive configurations. It offers V/F and SVC control methods and supports up to two independent motor parameter sets.
For demanding applications, the drive provides high overload capability; in Heavy Duty mode, it handles 150% of the rated current for 60 seconds and 200% for 3 seconds. Additionally, the ME300 includes features such as rapid deceleration, motor speed search, PID control, multi-step speed control, and other drive management functions.
The AFSAA variant combines an integrated EMC filter with the STO (Safe Torque Off) safety function. STO meets requirements including ISO 13849-1 Category 3 PL d and EN 61508 SIL2. This function enables the safe removal of motor torque and can simplify the design of the machine’s safety circuit.
Additionally, the ME300 series boards feature a protective coating compliant with IEC 60721-3-3, enhancing resistance to moisture, corrosion, and dust.
The ME300 comes standard with RS-485 (Modbus protocol), allowing for easy integration with a PLC or other control system. An integrated braking chopper enables higher braking torque when an external braking resistor is connected. The drive also supports pulse/PWM input and a common DC bus.
Installation is simplified by screwless spring-clamp control terminals and application-specific parameter groups—for example, for pumps, fans, compressors, or conveyors.
