IEI WAFER-MTL-U5A-R10 is a compact 3.5″ industrial single board computer (SBC) with an integrated Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 125U (Meteor Lake-U) processor. It offers support for up to 48 GB DDR5-5600, four independent displays, high-speed USB4, and two 2.5GbE LAN. With its compact size, low power consumption, and wide connectivity, it is suitable for industrial automation, HMI, edge computing, and other embedded applications.

Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 for modern embedded applications

The integrated Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 125U combines a modern hybrid architecture with a low 15W TDP and provides balanced computing and graphics performance for industrial and embedded applications. The processor offers 12 cores / 14 threads and a maximum frequency of up to 4.3 GHz.

The Meteor Lake platform also integrates an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) designed to accelerate selected AI tasks, which makes the board suitable for modern edge applications using AI.

Four independent displays

WAFER-MTL-U5A-R10 supports simultaneous operation of up to four independent displays via various video interfaces:

• HDMI 1.4 – up to 4K @ 30Hz
• DisplayPort 1.4 – up to 4K @ 60Hz
• USB4 – DisplayPort + USB 3.2 Gen2 ×2
• IEI iDPM 3040 – for compatible IEI display modules.

This configuration is suitable, for example, for multi-display HMIs, information and control systems, or digital signage.

Fast connectivity and flexible expansion

A pair of 2.5GbE LAN with Intel I226-V controllers ensures fast network communication. For connecting peripherals, 3× USB 3.2 Gen2x1 (10 Gb/s) and a modern USB4 interface are available.

The board also offers an M.2 E Key 2230 (PCIe Gen4 x1 + USB 2.0) for example for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module and an M.2 B Key 2242/3052 (PCIe Gen4 x1 + USB 3.2 Gen1). The M.2 B Key is complemented by an integrated Micro/Nano SIM slot.
