Intelligent system for advanced sorting of forest seedlings

Intelligent system for advanced sorting of forest seedlings

23.10.2020

DENESA s.r.o., a member of the ELVAC Group, has developed a unique workplace for automatic intelligent sorting of forest seedlings in cooperation with the Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
The system consists of machinery units such as equipment for removing seedlings from the planter (container for growing cover crops) and transferring them to the seedling carriers, which travel along a conveyor to the sorting chamber. In the chamber, these seedlings are camera-scanned and graded or classified into grading groups (A, B, C and yield) according to specific parameters. After this process, the seedlings travel further along the conveyor, where they are sorted into the appropriate groups according to the culling process, followed by other technological processes such as packing the seedlings, storing them and then shipping them to the customer.
